Artist Statement

My practice focuses on kiln cast glass and mixed media. Contemporary sculptural works are predominantly made in cast glass using the lost wax technique, making refractory moulds and kiln firing the crystal glass.
I use deconstruction and reconstruction methods to change an objects' original appearance. Glass sculptures play on narrative, ideas explore human interference in biology, developments in science and how industry transforms our world.
Currently my work is concerned with expressing movement and growth, sculptures that can move or are interchangeable.

Artwork Artist Statement

The suspended cast glass forms have been arranged considering the weight and balance of the piece, constructed to lightly move with the flow of air.

Out There Somewhere? mobile series have been made by up-cycling materials that would otherwise be considered waste material. Re-casting glass reservoirs/feeds cut from previous cast objects (that often get discarded) and broken guitar strings.
